There are 2 types of medical policies in the Russian Federation: compulsory and voluntary. The medical insurance policy of compulsory health insurance (CHI) guarantees the receipt of free medical care in the compulsory health insurance system throughout the territory of the Russian Federation. The compulsory health insurance policy can be issued only by those foreigners who have a temporary residence permit, residence permit or temporary asylum.
Duration of the OMS policy:
Foreign citizens and stateless persons permanently residing in the territory of the Russian Federation are issued a paper policy valid until the end of the calendar year;
Refugees and foreign citizens and stateless persons temporarily residing in the territory of the Russian Federation are issued a paper policy valid until the end of the calendar year, but no longer than the period of stay or the period of validity of a temporary residence permit.

In other cases, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, all foreign citizens arriving in the territory of Russia must have a valid voluntary medical insurance policy (VMI). It is necessary not only to obtain a patent for work in Russia, but also allows foreign citizens to receive timely and qualified medical care in Russian medical institutions.
With a VMI policy, you have the right to receive medical care at any state medical institution located on the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
